28. MEANING OF “NHẠC TẤU HUÂN THIÊN”At Báo Ân Từ [Gratitude Temple], Horse time April Mậu Tý year [1948] As there is mystery, Bần Đạo/I explain Rite-Music to void impoliteness when attending ceremony. What do we hear from thunder? Our Vietnam calls it “boom”/bang while the Buddhism calls it “ùm” [same to “bang”]. Therefore the Buddhism revised it “úm”: “úm ma ni bát rị hồng” [Indian: “Om mami padme hum”]. That sentence means to hold the universal power in hands. What do we hear its boom? After boom, we still its sound vibrating that boom’s origin is drum’s sound and its vibration is bell’s sound. Actually, the origin cause of Tao is from Orient. As drum’s sound vibrates to Europe, the Europe’s Religions responds to the Buddhism appearing in Orient. Consequently, the dependent Religions do not do as basic principle. Why do Bần Đạo/I usually remind you entering for ceremony to stand solemnly in order when Sacrifice Music to God rising? The Sacrifice Music to God is a sacrifice of life to Supreme Being as Master of Universe and all living creatures. Còn tại sao khi vô làm lễ, lúc "Nhạc Tấu Huân Thiên" tức là lễ hiến dâng sự sống cho Ðức Chí Tôn là Thầy của cả càn khôn vạn vật, Bần Ðạo thường nhắc nhở tất cả phải đứng ngay ngắn, nghiêm chỉnh. Nhạc là hưởng ứng của cả khối sanh quang của càn khôn vạn vật đồng thinh. Nơi Á Ðông có câu: "Biều thổ cách mộc thạch kim dử tư trước nãi bát âm". Các vật vô năng mà nói đặng có trật tự niêm luật hòa nhau là đạt Ðạo, hiệp lại với tiếng kinh mình đọc là âm thinh, nghĩa là con người cùng vạn vật đồng thinh hiến lễ. Nơi Ngọc Hư Cung có đôi liễn: "Bát hồn tư mặc ca Hoàng Lão, vạn vật đồng thinh niệm Chí Tôn". Khi nhạc trổi, cả thảy phải im lặng, hiến cả âm thinh sự bí mật ấy gọi là Phi-tướng-lễ chủ ý là trình tấu với Ðức Chí Tôn rằng: Các con biết được sự mầu nhiệm căn nguyên của Cha lành muốn cho các con nối nghiệp theo một khuôn phép trường tồn. Lễ đó trọng hệ như dâng Tam Bửu vậy. Bần Ðạo dặn một lần nữa: Khi nào xướng "Nhạc tấu Huân Thiên" thì phải đứng bình tịnh, người nào có vô không kịp thì đứng ngoài mà thôi. The music is the response of vital fluid mass of universe with homogeneous sound. In Orient, there is a sentence: “Biểu thồ cách mộc thạch kim dử tư trước nãi bát âm”. The incapable objects can speak in order harmony prosody as the achievement of dharma. For their sound united with our sound of prayer, humankind and all living creatures sacrifice with a homogeneous sound to Supreme Being. In Ngọc Hư Cung [God’s Court] has a parallel sentence: “Eight Souls running commend the Supreme Being, all living Creatures chant the title of Supreme Being”. When music raising, all of us must keep silent to respectfully sacrifice whole secret sound as Formless sacrifice with a main speech to Supreme Being: “We know the origin mystery of mercy Father who wants children to succeed with an eternal framework”. That rite is significant as sacrifice of Three Treasures. Bần Đạo/I advise one more time: When “Sacrifice Music to God” [“Nhạc Tấu Huân Thiên”] is started, must stand solemnly. If someone does not enter in time, he must wait and stay outside only.
Ngày hôm nay là ngày của Nội Các Tân Chánh Phủ toàn quốc đến tại Hương Cảng, trình danh sách cả Nội Các cho Ðức Bảo Ðại phê chuẩn. Toàn Ðạo đều hiểu rõ tình trạng hai năm nay, nước nhà và dân tộc Việt Nam đã chịu thống khổ dường nào. Họa nổi loạn khốc liệt thế nào, cả nòi giống đổ máu vô lối dường bao, hỏi do tại đâu? Từ trước Tổ phụ chúng ta để lại một nền văn hóa, phong tục tối cổ, hiệp chúng ta lại thành Quốc gia. Tiên Nho cho rằng hoặc nhà vua, hoặc triều chánh, hoặc toàn dân của nước cầm quyền thống trị. Văn hóa tối cổ chúng ta từ trước có một khuôn luật: Giữ Ðạo để trị nước. Hễ loạn lạc nước không bình phục đặng là do toàn quốc dân thất Ðạo. Quốc gia Việt Nam thế nào thì do nhơn loại trên mặt địa cầu nầy cũng thế đó. Nạn loạn lạc hoàn cầu, Bần Ðạo thuyết hôm qua chỉ rõ nguyên do nhơn loại thất đạo mà nảy sanh. Muốn cứu vãn tình thế Tiên Nho buộc cả nhà vua và Triều chánh dĩ chí toàn dân phải ăn chay, nguyện, tế, gọi là lễ Nam Giao. May thay Tân Chánh Phủ tức nhiên Tân Nội Các toàn quốc lại thấu đáo điều ấy, nên khi Bần Ðạo ở Sài Thành, chính mình Thủ Tướng Xuân đến nhà Bảo Sanh Quân cầu Bần Ðạo xin hành lễ khẩn nguyện Ðức Chí Tôn ban ân lành cho quốc dân Việt Nam. Ðã biết hiểu cơ bí mật ấy tức nhiên chúng ta định họ học Ðạo đặng. Một xa thơ đã bốn ngàn năm lịch sử đi đến giai đoạn khó khăn nguy hiểm, con đường qua rồi xa thơ quay bánh lăn tới đâu, chúng ta dòm thấy toàn xương máu.

If the state is trouble, it is due to immoral people. How the Vietnamese is, the global humankind is also in that framework. As I explained yesterday, the reason of global trouble accidents is due to immorality. In order to save situation, the Ancestor of Confucianism forces us to abstain from meat [fast], pray, sacrifice called Nam Giao ceremony [Heaven Worshipping Ceremony. “Nam” refers Vietnam. Gia Long king of Nguyễn dynasty built the capital in Huế and built a high area to sacrifice to God three yearly times]. How lucky! New Government as New Cabinet understood that thing thoroughly. Hôm nay, chúng ta vì tương lai của tổ quốc đặt nén hương lên Thiên bàn thành khẩn Ðức Chí Tôn ban ân cho Tân Chánh Phủ Việt Nam, ắt hẳn sẽ được thành công mỹ mãn. One car of civilization of 4,000 year-history faces on a difficult and dangerous stage. The car has passed path, we may see bone and blood behind wheel. The moral spirit in fight for national future and happiness is due to the person pushing the car of civilization forever in progress. It will become possible or impossible, it depends on moral spirit of national people. Today, we put the incense on Holy Altar to respectfully pray to Supreme Being to give favor to Vietnam Government. We do because of our national future, it will reach good achievement certainly.

Nội sáng mai nầy là ngày định vận mạng tương lai tiền đồ Tổ quốc cả nòi giống Việt Nam của chúng ta vậy. Vì cớ nên đêm nay mới có cuộc lễ nầy, đặng cầu nguyện Ðức Chí Tôn cho được kết liễu mỹ mãn và đôi đàng lấy thật tâm hòa giải, hầu vãn hồi trật tự, an ninh cho nước nhà ta. Kỳ trước, khi Bần Ðạo ở Hồng Kông về, Bần Ðạo có lên tòa giảng nầy nói rằng, cái khó là chẳng phải do nơi Pháp nữa, mà lại do Việt Nam ta, bao giờ cũng vậy, nhơn tâm vẫn thế. Trải tám mươi năm lệ thuộc, chúng ta chịu thống khổ tâm hồn đã nhiều rồi, bây giờ chúng ta hẳn đòi lại, đòi cho kỳ được, và phải được mà thôi, nhứt quyết như vậy. Cả đồng chủng của chúng ta ngày nay tinh thần đã đến bực lão thành rồi, chẳng còn ưng chịu nhục nhã tâm hồn như xưa nữa. Ðòi, đòi đặng dùng ai là người yêu nước, thật tâm ái quốc, không phải nói trong cửa Ðạo mà thôi, nói tất cả mỗi cá nhân trong xã hội, nếu ai là người thật tâm ái quốc, muốn lo lắng cho nền vận mạng nước nhà, thì cần phải suy đi xét lại và nhận định sự tấn thối cho tường, mỗi mỗi việc gì cũng phải để trọn tâm nghiên cứu cho thấu lý mới được. Ðịnh vận mạng cho một nước không phải là dễ, rất đổi việc làm cá nhân là việc nhỏ mà còn phải suy gẫm định tâm rồi mới quyết đoán, để cả tinh thần trí thức đặng giải quyết thay, huống chi cả vận mạng của một nòi giống thì cần phải kỹ lưỡng hơn nữa kìa. Hại thay! Những kẻ lãnh đạo kháng chiến, trong buổi tinh thần của một nước đã chịu tám mươi năm lệ thuộc đang bồng bột, mà những kẻ ấy ơ hờ chẳng để hết tâm hồn nghiên cứu. . Bần Ðạo nói thiệt, họ không ái quốc chi hết, 30. DESTINY OF VIETNAM NATIONAL PEOPLEAt Holy See, Mouse time, Night 28 April, Mậu Tý [05 June 1948] Tomorrow morning is the time of our national future of Vietnamese race. Therefore, there is this ceremony at night to pray to Supreme Being upon a good result. Two parties will mediate together by true heart in order to save our state’s security and order. Last time, Bần Đạo/I came back from Hong Kong and stood at this pulpit to explain that the difficulty did not happen due to France any more but due to our Vietnam. It is always unchanged, humankind’s heart still keeps that way. Over eighty years of dependence, we have been sustained sufferings in spirit. Now, we must obviously reclaim sovereignty successfully by determined heart. Our race with spirit becoming worldly-wise has not accepted to sustain disgrace as before. We reclaim to find truthful patriot. We do not only mention in Religion but also all individuals in society. Whoever is truthful patriot to want to care the national destiny, should consider and determine the advance or retreat thoroughly, should study every issue carefully by heart. To determine a state is not easy that we have to meditate our spirit and intelligence to determine it in spite of unimportant private issue. For destiny of our race, we must be more careful. How harmful! The resistance leaders in a young state because of eighty dependent years are unmindful not to study situation wholeheartedly. Bần Đạo/I say the truth that they do not love state. It is only a competition for interest and reputation at most. If they were true patriots, we would complete the trouble already. Our possessive authority is their bất quá là một trường tranh đấu đặng đoạt lợi quyền mà thôi, nếu thật tâm ái quốc thì họ đã giải quyết xong rồi. Cái quyền sở hữu của mình là thiên hạ thiếu nợ mình, thì mình đòi cần gì phải đánh lộn với họ, cứ chiếu giấy tờ ra mà đòi, nếu không trả thì kiện, chớ đánh kẻ thiếu nợ thì nó nổi khùng đánh lại, nó có chịu thua mình đâu, rồi nó không chịu trả mới làm sao nó? Những kẻ lãnh đạo ấy đã vô ý thức chắc hẳn vậy. Vì bởi cớ mà Bần Ðạo đến giải quyết vấn đề của nòi giống chúng ta là duy có lấy cái quyền sở hữu ấy đặng đòi mà thôi. Lập lại một lần nữa, nếu Bần Ðạo không bị đồ lưu nơi hải ngoại, thì không cần phải đánh nhau. Bất chiến tự nhiên thành, nền chơn giáo sẽ đem nòi giống ra khỏi sự thống khổ như thời dân Juifs, Ðức Chí Tôn đã sai Jésus Christ đến giải khổ vậy. Nếu thiên cơ không định dường ấy thì Ðạo không có giá trị gì hết. Tại sao? Chí Tôn đã đến cầm tinh thần của nòi giống Việt Nam 4.000 năm văn hiến, đặng làm khí cụ quyết chiến với tinh thần, coi có giải thoát nòi giống Việt Nam đặng chăng, coi có thắng được hay không cho toàn con cái của Người ngó thấy. Không thể dùng ngọn gươm, mũi súng mà quyết đoán thiên hạ đặng. Tài lực, cường liệt của gươm súng không quyết định thắng thiên hạ đặng, quyết hẳn như vậy. Ta nên lấy đó mà làm bài học và cho dân tộc Việt Nam thấy rằng, chúng ta có một mãnh lực còn mạnh hơn nguyên tử lực nữa kìa, chẳng lực lượng nào tàn sát cùng động đến được là tinh thần đó vậy. Bần Ðạo muốn cho nòi giống Việt Nam thấy lực lượng tinh thần nhơn nghĩa, đạo đức, đã thâu đoạt thắng lợi một cách vinh diệu. Ta hãy để mắt xem và để cả đầu óc suy nghiệm, coi hành tàng của kẻ vô đạo, con loàn, tôi giặc kia, có thắng được tinh thần của Tổ tiên Việt Nam lưu lại đó hay chăng cho biết. Ta mở mắt xem bên nào thắng, bên nào bại. debt to us. We only reclaim it. It is not necessary to fight against them. We refer the documentary to reclaim it. If they do not pay, we will sue them. No fight leads to achievement obviously because the true Religion will save race from suffering as race of Juifs that Supreme Being nominated Jesus Christ to go down to save from misery. If the Heaven design did not determine that, the Religion will be useless. Why is it? The Supreme Being came to hold 4,000-year-civilization-spirit of Vietnamese race as a tool to fight against the spirit if it will save Vietnamese race and win it. All children of Supreme Being should look at it. It is impossible to use gun to win people. The ability and power of gun are impossible to decide victory against people. We should consider it as a lesson to let Vietnamese race know that we have a force, which is stronger than atom bomb that there is no force winning it. That is our spirit. Bần Đạo/I want Vietnamese race to know that the spirit force of morality humanity obtained and won victoriously. We should look at it and think about actions of immoral people as servant of invader if they will be able to win our Vietnam Ancestor spirit handed. We observe if who will win and who will fail.

Ngày hôm nay, Bần Ðạo đình sự khảo cứu phong hóa của nhà Nam ta về đạo nhơn luân, đối với đạo nhơn luân của cả nhơn loại trên mặt địa cầu nầy, để nói về buổi lễ hồi sáng nay tổ chức với ý nghĩa, chí hướng gì? Vả chăng Ông Chevance Bertin, là đại diện của Tổng Trưởng Bộ Pháp Quốc Hải Ngoại, lãnh mạng lịnh của quan Tổng Trưởng sang Ðông Dương đặng quan sát tình hình liên quan Việt Pháp, tức là tình hình đương nhiên của nước nhà ta đối với nước Pháp. Ấy là một yếu nhơn có thể làm phát ngôn viên, đặng đem sự thật trình bày cho dân tộc Pháp hiểu biết tình trạng hiện tại, nên Bần Ðạo đến tại Sài Thành, để có lời ước vọng cùng Ông quan sáu De Latour là muốn gặp Ông Chevance Bertin. Thời buổi đương nhiên nầy, chúng ta đừng để cho thiên hạ có thể nói rằng, không hiểu tâm lý của nòi giống Viêt Nam như thế nào, hễ gặp dịp là phô bày, nhứt là chúng ta là người đạo đức, càng cần phải trải sự thật trắng ra trước mắt, cho người ta quyết đoán. Bần Ðạo vừa nói: Ông Chevance Bertin là một yếu nhơn có thể làm phát ngôn viên cho Việt Nam nơi nước Pháp. Ngài là một vị Trung Tướng hồi hưu, nay làm chủ nhiệm tờ báo Climat, là tờ báo được quốc dân Pháp tín nhiệm. Bần Ðạo bày cuộc lễ hồi sáng, đặng nhờ toàn con cái của Ðức Chí Tôn nhứt tâm, nhứt đức, tỏ rõ thiệt tướng, đạo đức tinh thần của chúng ta ngày nay như
Today, Bần Đạo/I postpone the study on our Vietnam’s manner about human ethics over humankind’s human ethics on this earth in order to explain the meaning and purpose of ceremony organized this morning. He is an important person who can be a reporter to state the real status to let French race understand present status. Thus, Bần Đạo/I went to Saigon to speak to Mr. De Latour that I wanted to meet Mr. Chevance Bertin. In the obvious period, we do not let people say that we do not understand how Vietnam race’s psychology is. If we have a chance, we should display everything. For foremost moral people, we need to show the truth in front of other people’s sight for their decision. Bần Đạo/I have just said: “Mr. Chevance Bertin is an important person who can be a reporter for Vietnam in France”. He is a Lieutenant General retired, as a director of Climate newspaper, which is entrusted by French. Bần Đạo/I this morning ceremony to reply on children of Supreme Being to wholeheartedly show how real conformation of our spiritual morality is, so that he could see it. I never tell a lie that it was to induce His spirit think so much. It is not strange, people thế nào, cho Ngài ngó thấy mà thôi. Bần Ðạo dám chắc, không hề nói dối, đó là làm cho tinh thần của Ngài để ý suy nghĩ lắm vậy. Lạ gì, thế thường thiên hạ hay nói (lời lặp lại của Ðức Chúa Jésus Christ): Mắt với mắt, răng với răng (Oeil pour oeil dent pour dent) kẻ vô nhơn tình mà mình lấy tánh cách vô nhơn tình ấy đối lại thì vẫn vô nhơn tình mãi thôi, không hề khi nào thâu nhơn tình đặng, lấy oán hận mà trả lại sự oán hận, thì nó vẫn còn mãi mãi. Trên mặt thế gian chưa ai biết được quyền năng tinh thần đạo đức, quyền năng ấy vô đối, nếu ta biết nắm lấy nó trong tay, thì nó là cây gươm, nền Ðạo gọi là Huệ kiếm. Ðem tình cảm đặng cảm giác thiên hạ, tấn tuồng ấy Bần Ðạo đương làm đây với một chánh sách, từ khi biết Ðạo và ra đảm nhiệm phận sự thiêng liêng của Chí Tôn phú thác. Bần Ðạo đã biết rõ sự bí mật của cơ chuyển thế nầy và tánh chất của loài người, thấu đáo tận tường rằng không bao giờ dùng cường lực đặng đè nén, ép buộc tinh thần loài người, đặng đem vào Thánh chất cho được. Muốn chuyển theo chánh sách của Ðức Chí Tôn thì duy có lấy nhơn đức đối với hung bạo, lấy hiền đối với dữ, lấy tâm quảng đại bao la khoan dung tha thứ của Trời Ðất đối với tánh đức hẹp hòi của loài người, lấy tâm bác ái trải ra toàn tâm lý loài người đặng trừ cái tánh gian xảo, hung tàn, quỉ quyệt của họ. Nếu chúng ta đi theo được đúng như vậy, mới có thể xứng đáng là kẻ thay mặt cho Ðức Chí Tôn cầm cơ chuyển thế tại thế gian nầy. Bần Ðạo đã làm đặng như vậy, và sẽ còn làm nữa. Tình trạng của chúng ta làm ngày hôm nay để cho thiên hạ thấy tâm đức chơn thật của chúng ta đã trải trước mắt họ, thì họ cũng phải đối lại với ta chơn thật như vậy. Coi vậy mà ngoài mặt ta tinh thần đương thanh tịnh sẽ có giờ xao xuyến, chớ thiên lương tâm lý vô đối trong phút giây tỉnh giác và phút giây ấy có thể làm môi giới cho ta tự tỉnh cả kiếp sống của mình. often say (repeat of Jesus Christ): “eye with eye, teeth with teeth”. If we use inhumanity to treat inhuman people, it will always inhuman that we never gain people’s sympathy. If rancor is used to respond to rancor , the rancor will exist forever. On the earth, nobody has known the moral spirit power. That power is incomparable. If we know to keep it, in Religion, it will be a sword of Wisdom. We use sentiment to convert people. That method is being done by me with a specific policy from the time of that I undertook holy mission appointed by Supreme Being. Bần Đạo/I have known the secret of mechanism of world turn and people’s character thoroughly and have understood thoroughly that we will never use force to oppress humankind’s spirit and their holy quality. In order to turn due to Supreme Being’s policy, we only take humanity to respond to cruelty, take virtue to respond to bad, to take the pardon tolerant generous heart of Heaven to respond to the small-minded character of humankind, to take infinite love to spread over humankind’s psychology in order to remove their artful character and cruelty. If we can go on that way right, we are worthy to be representatives of Supreme Being holding the mechanism of world turn on this earth. Bần Đạo/I have been able to do that. I will continue to do more. What we do today is to let people see our truthful heart and morality in front of their sight. They will also respond to us in the same way. Our appearance ataraxia of spirit looks tranquil but it sometimes upsets. However, our innate conscience of psychology is incomparable in awake minutes, which can be a medium for us to awake in own life. We have found people’s awake method. The Sakyamuni Buddha said: “self-conscious, then awake others”. Nếu tất cả thấy được quyền (huyền?)(*1) diệu pháp, điều mà mấy người không thể tưởng tượng được, vì từ khi mở Ðạo mới có lần đầu. Hay là tại chúng ta đồng thinh tụng kinh mà được như vậy chăng? Ấy vậy, từ đây về sau, chúng ta vẫn làm y như kỳ nầy mãi mãi. Hôm nay, Bần Ðạo xin tạm đình khảo cứu nền phong hóa của Việt Nam đối với dân tộc vạn quốc đặng thuyết một vấn đề trọng yếu từ thử đến giờ chưa ai thố lộ. Ngày hôm kia, Bần Ðạo gặp Ðức Lý Giáo Tông vấn đáp cùng Ngài về một lý thuyết tối trọng yếu trong nền Chánh giáo của Ðức Chí Tôn. Ấy vậy, xin cả thảy bình tâm lắng nghe Bần Ðạo minh thuyết và rán nhớ, bởi vì bài giảng Ðạo hôm nay có điều bí ẩn tiên tri, sự tiên tri ấy kết liễu cùng chăng không rõ, nhưng hiện giờ ta có thể đoán xét được. Ðức Lý Giáo Tông có giáng cơ nói, giao quyền Cửu Trùng trong tay Bần Ðạo đặng thống nhứt quyền hành Chưởng Quản Nhị Hữu Hình Ðài, ấy là do Ngọc Hư Cung quyết định, tức là Thiên điều quyết định vậy. Ðiều ấy Bần Ðạo lấy làm khó nghĩ, lấy trí mà tưởng tượng. Ngoài ra người nào khác hơn là Bần Ðạo thì không để ý, nhứt là khi chịu nhận đảm nhiệm ấy làm cho tinh thần Bần Ðạo kiếm hiểu vì cớ nào Ngài cho Bần Ðạo quyền thống nhứt, mà tìm kiếm không ra. May thay! Ðức Lý Giáo Tông đến, Bần Ðạo thú thiệt xin Ngài nói rõ cho biết đôi việc nhỏ đặng chỉnh đốn lại, và xin lỗi đặng vấn nạn Ngài vấn đề ấy. Bần Ðạo nói:

Bần Ðạo xin giải nghĩa: Cửu Trùng Ðài là chơn tướng của Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa tức là cơ hữu vi của Càn Khôn Võ Trụ, do Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa tạo thành". Hỏi: Bởi quyền năng nào tạo thành? Do nơi quyền năng vô đối của Chí Tôn. Pháp là thành tướng ấy là do nơi Pháp từ Thượng cổ đến giờ liên hiệp Vạn Linh và Chí Linh. Bởi vậy ta tìm Ðạo là cốt yếu tìm hiểu cái bí pháp ấy như thế nào và có phương thế gì làm cho ta đoạt đặng chăng? Ấy vậy, Cửu Trùng Ðài là Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa tạo đoan cả Vạn Linh trong Càn Khôn Võ Trụ. Chúng ta ngước mặt lên trời, mắt ta thấy hằng hà sa số là địa giới, ta gọi là sao, mỗi vì tinh tú ấy là một quả địa cầu có người ta ở, cho nên Ðức Chí Tôn mới nói rằng: Càn Khôn Võ Trụ nầy chứa đầy Vạn Linh. Nói rõ hơn Cửu Trùng Ðài là Ðời. Còn Hiệp Thiên Ðài là Pháp giới tạo ra Vạn Linh, nó là Ðạo, rõ rệt như vậy. Bây giờ Bần Ðạo hỏi tại cớ nào Ngài đến đây, cầm quyền trị thế. Ta tìm hiểu cao sâu hơn nữa sự bí mật ấy. Hiện thời chúng ta thấy gì? Ta thấy đời đương phấn khởi bồng bột, tự năng, tự tạo, tự đoán, tự chủ, không còn đạo đức gì hết. Ðương nhiên có hai hình tướng: Cộng Sản tinh thần thể chất. Các Ban máy móc, cách vật, hóa học tức thuộc hình tượng thể chất. Ấy vậy, tinh thần tức là đạo đức, phải như thế nào đặng đối phó cho vừa sức lại thể chất ấy. Ðời bây giờ quá tấn triển về hình thể, phải có cơ Ðạo đủ năng lực tỉnh thức tâm hồn của loài người và giữ gìn dìu dắt cho mới tồn tại. Mà ta thấy các Tôn giáo hiện hữu tại địa cầu nầy đã mất quyền. Ðiều đó quyết hẳn vậy! Thiên hạ tinh thần đã loạn mà không ai cầm quyền điều khiển nên tự do sát hại lẫn nhau. Chí Tôn đến, đến đặng cứu con cái của Người. Người đã làm thế nào? Chẳng có chi lạ. Người chỉ tăng cường đạo đức làm giềng mối cho tâm lý loài người đặng bảo tồn sanh mạng cho cả nhơn loại với phép duy tâm thì Ðời mới tồn tại. Ngài nói rằng: "Cái nhà máy xay, vốn nó không cấy, không gặt mà nó vẫn có gạo cho ra toàn nhơn sanh ăn; Ðạo Cao Ðài không ra khỏi nước mà có thể làm phận sự trọn vẹn đặng". Bần Ðạo hỏi câu ấy có ý nghĩa thế nào? Ngài đáp: "Mối chơn truyền của Ðức Chí Tôn đem Ðạo đến tại thế là mối dây liên lạc tương quan cùng các Tôn giáo trên Thế giới, đương nhiên cầm quyền nhơn loại bởi không có giềng mối kết liên với nhau thành ra chia rẽ, phân biệt trắng đen, hơn thiệt. Trận giặc Tôn giáo trên địa cầu hiện giờ ta thấy tại Ấn Ðộ và Palestine có thể nào làm cho các Tôn giáo hiệp đồng tâm đức đặng chăng. Duy có năng lực của Chí Tôn tạo thành mối dây liên hệ các Tôn giáo cùng nhau đó thôi". I continued to question: “If that Religion is given by the Supreme Being to harmonize so that they can be homogeneous but they follow it, how do we do?” He said:

Ấy vậy, Ðức Chí Tôn định cho Hộ Pháp cầm quyền hai Ðài, tức Thiên điều quyết định Ðạo phải làm chủ của Ðời, oai quyền ấy sẽ cứu Ðời khỏi tận diệt.
