Trong quá trình sưu tầm điền dã, chúng tôi đã ghi nhận rất nhiều vấn đề, nhiều sự kiện có liên quan đến việc diễn xướng kể chuyện trong đời sống văn hóa của người Khmer Nam Bộ. Tuy nhiên, với cấu trúc của bối cảnh tạo nên sự kiện kể chuyện, nhiều tài liệu đã ghi chép của chúng tôi phải chuyển sang để phục vụ cho một hướng nghiên cứu khác. Bởi lẽ, trong định hướng ban đầu còn nhiều bỡ ngỡ chúng tôi đã thực hiện theo phương pháp điền dã truyền thống nên nhiều tài liệu không đáp ứng yêu cầu của cấu trúc bối cảnh (truyện thứ nhất trong phụ lục này là một minh chứng cho phương pháp truyền thống). Truyện đầu tiên là sự dò dẫm, tìm tòi cách thể hiện còn nhiều yếu tố bất hợp lí nhưng chúng tôi chủ trương giữ nguyên trạng để minh chứng cho quá trình thực hiện. Truyện thứ hai chúng tôi dẫn từ tài liệu sưu tầm và văn bản hóa để đối chiếu, so sánh. 05 truyện còn lại được thực hiện theo phương pháp mới.
