Classification based on the spatial modes of working

Live/On-site interpretation: requires interpreters to be
physically present on the
spot.
Remote telephone interpretation: enables interpreters to deliver interpretation via
telephone. Interpreters can also involve in a conference call such as court trials.
Video/TV/Internet interpretation: includes
services via Video Remote
Interpreting (VRI), Video Relay Service (VRS) or Internet. They are useful when one of
the
parties is deaf, hard-of-hearing or speech-impaired.
