A. WARM-UP. 5’

Give some adjectives to talk bout some famous city or their landmarks, people,...


Give Ss sufficient time to do the excise. When Ss have indentified the unsuitable adjectives, ask them to explain why adjective is inapprociate. Encourage conversation


_ elicits the language being practiced in this activity: the present perfect tense

-T asks Ss to complete the conversation individually.

-Ss can share answers with their partners.

T divides Ss into pairs of As and Bs.

- Go through the questions with Ss. If they do not have any information about a particular, stop and give at least 3 answer options for them to consider. After they have competed the fact sheet, have a whole class discussion about the answer. The aim of the task is to practise the superlative, so accept reasonable answer, as there could be several correct answer.

- Tell Ss for a reference they can look at the text about Britain on page 25 in Ss' book. Work in individually


- T model one

- Have Ss play the game in pairs.

- Ask some pairs to report what they have found out about the partner.

-Ask Ss to use their results for the questions in looking back to guide them as they compete this self- assesment.

- - Use the lexical items related to the topic ‘Our houses in the future’.

- Pronounce the sounds /dr/ and /tr/ correctly in isolation and in context.

- Cards, posters, cassette & tape.

A. WARM UP:5’

Retell about Phong’s future house



- Lead in
- Give some new words
- Play the recording and let Ss listen to the words. Play it again with pauses for Ss to repeat each word.

- Correct Ss’ pronunciation.

- Let Ss work in pairs to put the words in the box into the columns.

- Check Ss’ answers. Explain to ss that they may use one word more than once.


? What is the difference between ‘furniture’ and ‘appliances’

- Tell Ss to do the task individually: Match the appliances in A with the things they can or might do in B, then write sentences.

- Call some Ss to write the sentences on the board. T checks their answers.
- Ask Ss to read the example first. Tell them to roleplay the conversation in 2, using the information .

- Present the two sounds.

- Play the recording twice:

+ First, allow Ss to listen and repeat the chants sentence by sentence. Help them recognize the two sounds. Let Ss practice the sounds /dr/ and /tr/ together. Ask Ss to observe the T’s lip positions for these two sounds.

+ Then, ask them to write the words in columns. Let them check their answers in groups.

- Call some Ss to write their answers on the board.

- Correct mistakes.

- Let ss read the words again and ask them to pay attention to the sounds /dr/ and /tr/.

Appliances (thiết bị): instruments or tools used for a particular job: washing machine and other electrical appliances.
