I.Aims - By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to pronounce the sounds / e∂ / and / i∂ / correctly inisolation and in context, getting to know some vocabulary related to sports and games

II. Teaching aids:

-Posters, Pictures,. cassette.



III.Procedure: 7'

*Organization : Greetings and roll call.

* Checking up : - T gets one student to go to the board to write new words

- T gets the other student to read the dialogue and answer the questions.

Ss come to the board and write words related to sports and games.

A. WARM UP:.5’Brainstorm

- Gives some new words



Checking : Matching with pictures ( part 2)

T plays the recording and lets Ss listen. Play it again with pauses for them to repeat each word. Correct their pronunciation.

- What sports are these things for?

Match the things in column A with sports in column B

- Tell Ss to do the task individually first. Call some Ss to write their answers on the board then check their answers as a class

- Let Ss practise the sounds / e∂ / and / i∂ / together. Ask Ss to observe T for the correct

pronunciation of these two sounds

T allows to work individually. Then let them check their answers in groups . T amy call some Ss to write their answers on the board . Correct their mistakes. Let them read together as a class once or twice.

- Play the recording. Let Ss repeat sentence by sentence. Help them recognize the two sounds, then underline the words in the sentence.

- Play the recording again if necessary
