requirement of ISO9001:2000 in natural way. 5S principles adopted by the organizations help in 
accruing higher productivity, best quality in order to build Total Quality Management and 
ISO9001:2000 standards. 5S principles can be appropriately integrated with ISO9001:2000 in 
order to bring the movement toward total quality management. According to Pheng (2001), 
ISO9001:2000 have close resemblance to the corresponding 5S principles as discussed in Table 
2:

organization in achieving the first step of ISO9001:2000 certification. 5S facilitates internal 
auditors in the organization to spot and remove non conformities which help in achieve the ISO 
standards and lead towards TQM.
