  1. INTRODUCTION

This report aims to provide an overview of basic management and leadership knowledge, providing a good foundation for an understanding of key management principles and leadership skills. It helps identify and discuss important management concepts, methods and structures to implement at large companies in Vietnam and in the role of director. The report will clearly differentiate between management and leadership roles, especially in large company work environments. An understanding of both roles will help us shape effective management and leadership strategies. Presents basic management principles such as planning, organizing, directing and controlling, and discusses fundamental leadership skills such as communication, motivation, conflict management, and driving innovation. building and managing effective teams, as well as workforce management and development, strategy and managing the change process within the company.

  1. LEADERSHIP THEORIES

  1. Traits approach

The trait approach is one of the earliest theories of leadership that focuses on identifying the inherent qualities and characteristics of effective leaders. According to this approach, certain traits or personal attributes are associated with successful leadership. Here are some key points about the trait approach to leadership theories:
Research and Read Literature: The first important thing is to read and study literature on different leadership theories. Sources may include books, articles, research, presentations, and online materials. This gives you a basic understanding of each theory and how they work.
Take a Course or Study Program: If you have the opportunity, take a leadership course or program. These courses often help you better understand leadership theories through instruction from experienced instructors.
Discussion and Discussion: Participate in discussions or exchanges with others knowledgeable about leadership. During discussions and exchanges, you can learn from others and share your views.
Practical Application: Apply leadership knowledge into practice. This can be through applying leadership approaches in daily work or during the management of projects or work groups.
Monitor and Evaluate: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the leadership theories you apply. Consider the strengths and weaknesses of each theory and find ways to improve your leadership based on these results.

There are many ways to characterize leadership theories. One way is to look at the personal qualities of successful leaders. This can help us identify the qualities needed to be an effective leader. Another way is to look at the scientific research on leadership. These studies have shown that certain personal qualities are related to leadership effectiveness. For example, successful leaders are often extroverted, confident, and have good communication skills. Finally, we can also evaluate ourselves to see if we have the necessary personal qualities. to become a leader or not. If we find that we lack certain qualities, we can try to develop them. Acquiring characteristics of leadership theories is an ongoing process. We need to always learn and develop ourselves to become more effective leaders.
