1. Past simple
Form:
a) Đối với động từ “to be”:
Examples: (+) It was hot yesterday.
(-) I wasn’t at home last Sunday.
(?) Were they worried about the result of the exam?
Yes, they were./No, they weren’t.
Where were you last night? – I was at the theatre with my girlfriend.

b) Đối với động từ thường:
Examples: (+) She prepared the lessons carefully last night.
(-) I did not go to the beach last summer.
