In the increasingly intense and dynamic competition era today, information system has a strategic role in improving competitiveness of companies. IS strategies are defined for their alignment with business objectives or their capacity to create significant impact on the organization’s competitive positioning [1].
One of the strategies was to integrate the information systems in form of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). One
ssoftware that integrate the information systems in the form of ERP was the System Application and Products (SAP) made by SAP AG, a provider and software consulting founded in Germany in 1972. SAP as an ERP system that was popular and has been used by many companies in the world, including Telkom. Telkom implemented the SAP into functioning of business in 2002 as application of management information system. Implementation of SAP in Telkom aimed to improve the integration of business units therein (Logistics, Human Resources and Finance). Prior to the implementation of SAP, Telkom information system was still fragmented to be Sistem Informasi Manajemen dan Akuntansi (SIMAK), Sistem Informasi Manajemen Logistik (SIMLOG), Atelir Management Information System (ATEMIS) and so on that lead to inefficient business processes in Telkom. Therefore, Telkom built an integrated management information system with a single database by adopting SAP applications.
Many companies, however, were failed in implementing information systems, though the implementation of information systems was an expensive investment and spent a lot of company resources. Therefore, the company, including Telkom strived to conduct an evaluation on the implementation of the information systems they used [2]. To meet the businesses needs of tools for measuring success of information systems, researchers continued to develop information system measurement model, one of which was developed by DeLone and McLean. According to Jogiyanto [3], the DeLone and McLean model was a parsimony model that was simple and valid.
