C. Information Systems Success Model

Research on the success of information systems has been carried out by previous research. The models were used as an alternative to the limitations of various financial models to measure the success of information systems. In many studies (Ives et al., Bailey and Pearson, Doll and Torzadeh, Seddon and Yiew, Mahmood et al., Doll et al., Livari, Landrum and Prybutok), the success of information systems was proxied by user satisfaction [3]. However, the use of user satisfaction as a measure of the information systems success got criticism from Markus and Keil. They critically expressed that satisfaction will not mean a lot if the system did not increase individual and organizational performance [7]. Jogiyanto mentioned that user satisfaction was user response on the use of information system output [3].
In 1992 DeLone and McLean constructed a model describing the success of information systems. This model was based on a thorough study of literature and previous studies on the success of information systems. DeLone and McLean information systems success model (D & M IS Success Model) was developed from studies conducted by Shannon and Weaver, and Mason and other information systems research conducted previously [3]. Shannon and Weaver were researcher in the field of communication. Shannon and Weaver classified the information into three levels. Those were technical level, semantic level and level of effectiveness. Technical level was defined as the accuracy and efficiency of a system that produce information. Semantic level of information was defined as a success in bringing the intended meaning. The level of effectiveness was defined as the effect of information on the recipients [3]. Mason introduced a theory called the information influence theory that emphasize on the influence of information. Mason showed that the production quality from technical level was measured by the quality of its production system. The products quality in the form of production results in the semantic level was measured by the quality of information. In effectiveness level, the receiver effectiveness was measured by the use of its system, the influence effectiveness on the recipient was measured by user satisfaction and individual impact, and the influence on the system was measured with organizational impact.
In the updated IS success model (DeLone & McLean), IS qualities, such as system quality, information quality, and service quality, and satisfaction are considered as the key predictors of IS success [8], [9]. In the model proposed by DeLone and McLean (D & M IS Success Model), the system quality to measure the technical success, information quality to measure the success of semantic and use, user satisfaction, individual impact and organizational impact to measure the effectiveness success in accordance with the proposed ideas by Shannon and Weaver and Mason in Jogiyanto [3].

The proposed model reflected a dependence of the six measures of information systems success including system quality, information quality, use, user satisfaction, individual impact, and organization impact. DeLone and McLean information systems success model described as follows [8]:

In 2003 DeLone and McLean revised the model into "Update Success Model of DeLone and McLean Information Systems" [8]. In this new model, DeLone and McLean added
dimension of service quality. Additionally, DeLone and
McLean also incorporated two dimensions of individual influence and organizational influence into net benefits (net benefits) [8].
