The numeric analysis of the 46 meter high structure of the dam body was
The first approach (conventional approach), the analysis was carried out
considering a continuous placement of RCC with an interval of 3meter in 10 days,
and a constant value for ambient and placement temperature was taken, where the
ambient temperature was equal to the average annual temperature cycle and
placement temperature was equal to the average placement temperature. The average

The second approach (actual approach), is based on the actual information
obtained during the construction of the dam, that includes: the data of installation of
the RCC (actual schedule placement); the daily ambient temperature; the temperature
of the RCC in unsettled initial stage; the adiabatic temperature increment curve of
temperature and heat of hydration curve; actual thermal conductivity; specific heat
and density of the conventional concrete (CVC), and RCC.
For each approach, two and three dimension thermal and structural analyses
are carried out for the Mujib RCC dam. Linear and nonlinear stress strain behavior
regarding its temporal variability are considered in the structural analysis. The
numerically computed temperatures are compared with the actual temperature of the
RCC dam which is instrumented with DFOT and thermocouples. (no results for 2D-
actual-nonlinear-Modulus and 3D-actual-nonlinear-Modulus are presented here)
