Abstract
EVALUATION OF PBDE RESIDUE IN SEDIMENT
IN HOCHIMINH CITY AND SOLUTION PROPOSED
Total PBDE residues are found in sediment at a significant level in Hochiminh city. Total PBDE
concentration in the centre, suburban of Hochiminh city and Saigon-Dongnai estuary ranged from
54,5 – 119,0 ng/g; < 0,02 – 10,63 ng/g and < 0,02 - 0,065 ng/g, respectively. The long-time release
of PCB in sediment in Hochiminh city is observed. Based on the PBDE residue, glycolate method to
treat PBDE in sediment and one group of environmental management solution are proposed.
Keywords: PBDE, sediment, residue.
