ONLINE SHOPPING HABITS OF UNI STUDENTS IN AUSTRALIA

ONLINE SHOPPING HABITS OF (YOUNG) AUSTRALIANS: QUANTITATIVE DATA

ONLINE SHOPPING HABITS OF (YOUNG) AUSTRALIANS: QUALITATIVE DATA
Please specify the reasons for preferring/ not preferring online shopping to shopping in physical stores during the school semester.

i know exactly what quality i'm getting when I see it in store

It requires less effort as you can just search it up instead of physically driving, walking and browsing through items.

Prefer: More options and variety to choose from, direct shipping and student discounts.

Shopping in a store is a social event that allows me to connect with friends

I do very little online shopping. Semester dates make no difference to my shopping habits. I like to see and try
on what I buy so I would rather do it in person.

I do not prefer to online shop during the school semester as I have time to go into the store and would
rather try on the clothes I am wanting to purchase.

Online shopping is preferable for homebodies like myself who don't enjoy going out in public much.

I prefer to see what I buy and be able to try it on see how it fits me. I just want to be able to get a first hand
feel of what I am wanting to spend my money on.

If I know exactly what I want to purchase I will look online for the cheapest price. If I am unsure I will browse
online for times I am interested in to see the average selling price. Overall I see online shopping as an
extension of the selling of goods, not an upgrade or replacement.

sizing is a big issue for me

I like being able to try on clothes before buying them

I don't have a preference for online shopping. I occasionally undertake research of a product before shopping
instore. Apart from overseas book purchases, I rarely purchase online.

I can do it anywhere

Easier and more efficient!

don't have to get out of bed

Because I like to make sure I can feel the clothes and their quality

Even if I’m tight on time, I like to be in the actual store (to try on clothes).

Shopping online is more accessible from university or the comfort of my home than going to a store

no time for shopping or just too lazy

Not prefer. I prefer to have it as soon as I can even if thats in store.

Because it takes a lot less time and I do not have to go out of my way to go to a store when it can
be done in a much less time frame when online shopping

Previous issues with online shopping (items not coming as advertised, long shipping time, postage
and handling fees because I live in Australia >:( and items not fitting as described). I like going to
brick and mortar stores because this eliminates basically every problem I have had with online shopping.

Whether or not I am at uni does not make a difference in my online shopping habits.

Online shopping is very convenient, and can save time during the school semester.

I'm often quite sceptical of things online. I like to see and experience them before I buy them

Quick and easy to sort what kind of close I need

usually easier time-wise to do stuff online unless there's a book etc available at the uni bookshop.
shopping online gives me more time to study/rest/also easier to research products online especially
with the time it takes to go into physical stores to look into products. for pop culture items e.g. comics
& posters I still prefer to shop in-store to guarantee quality as shipping tends to damage comics.

Online shopping is easier compare to walk around

Easier

can stay in comfort of own home to buy and try on- easy returns etc

easier to see and compare items from different brands

wastes less time

Aside from having little time to shop in store, many of the products that I purchase are unavailable
in store or in Australia. Online shopping is also convenient when buying products that are much
cheaper than what would be available in store.

I prefer going into stores so I can actually see/test/try on the product before I spend my money.

Physical access gives a chance to evaluate the product physically in store.

Don't really have a preference.

-

No time to go into physical stores.

I like sshopping in physical store because I can try on the clothes

I don't shop online because I am not looking to purchase anything

I prefer shopping at physical stores so I can assess the quality of the clothes and I can also try them
on to see if they look good on me and if they are the correct size.

It is more convenient and a lot more quicker

It doesn't make a difference whether online or physical. Delivery prices are often too expensive :)

Easier, wider range and better deals.

I prefer to see and handle the products in person (rather than relying on a photo)

it depends on the goods, price and mood.

Enjoy actually going out and making a trip. I also prefer trying things on before I buy.

I prefer online shopping because I feel like there is a greater variety in terms of what i'm looking for!
