Conclusion

Ralph is a success of William Golding as he appeared with a lively appearance and complex personality under the writer's polished shaping skill. The dark side in his personality is his bullying towards Piggy and the desire to hunt and kill. However, among his peers who choose savagery, Ralph still maintains his sanity and human instincts.
Lord of the Flies is a breakthrough work because William Golding with a haunting writing style expressed extremely naked and harsh emotions with a system of metaphors and symbols. The author was skillful in creating a tragedy story into a play between young boys who know nothing about life. Their war from an adult's point of view is only a children's game that only burned down an island and killed two children. Placed in the book's birth, 1954 - the time humanity had just overcome the Great War, Lord of the Flies is a declaration and protest towards that part of humanity that likes to wage war.
The title “Lord of the Flies” is the main symbol among the novels. The bloody sow’s head with a grin represents the ANIMAL part beside the HUMAN part of any human being. The laws, rules, and pressure of society have somewhat restrained evil. However, when the democratic society no longer exists, evil has the opportunity to manifest. The wildlife has separated the boys from civilized life, while the others are trying to get back to their previous life, and a number of them abandon their human civilization. Facing difficult situations either makes them stronger and braver, or degrades them. Without any standard, humans can fall far. The most terrible thing for humans is to give up their humane rights.
