Steel girder and beam

“I” and “T” girders and

Steel beams and girders
should be stowed fore
and aft. The beams should
be stowed with flanges
arranged in an “in and out”
position and usually packed
in bundles as seen below

shaped steel bars.
Primarily used for
reinforcement in the
construction of steel
structures.

stowed fore and aft.

angle and bulb

Product is multi-purpose
for use in construction
for reinforcement of steel
structures.
Steel angle and bulb are
usually packed in bundles
and stowed fore and aft.
Steel mesh
Finished
steel mesh
products that are either
rolled or in sheet form.
Product is normally in form
for final use and is primarily
used for fencing or grating
purposes.
Wire mesh rolls should
be stowed athwartships.
Grating
sheets can be
stowed fore and aft or
athwartships. Usually
stowed on the top of other
cargoes.
Steel reinforcement straight
or folded bar (i.e. rebar)
Long, roughly finished hot
rolled
steel bars of small
diameter.
Product is used for
reinforcing concrete
structures. Rebar is
transported in single units
or bundled in groups with
1 inch (2.5 cm)
width steel
bands or tie wire.
Stowage is usually
dependent upon the
geometry of the cargo hold.
