The quality of the supply chain

Quality control (QC)
is a branch of QA that uses many methods to
test and measure products or services in order
to ensure their standard.

QUALITY ASSURANCE AND QUALITY CONTROL
the quality of the supply chain
Some people may confuse the term (QA) with (QC). Although the two concepts
are similar, there are important distinctions between them.
Maintaining material quality in the supply chain is vital for ensuring the
manufacturing of high-quality final products, reducing costs, and protecting a
company’s reputation.
Broadly speaking, QC deals mostly with inspecting goods and services to ensure that they meet
specific requirements. While QA deals with management practices to make sure that business
produces quality output.
Quality control methods are reactive in nature since they focus on finding defective products
before they reach the customers. Whereas quality assurance methods are proactive and try to fix
the processes in order to make sure that defects aren
t introduced in the first place.
In effect, QA provides the overall guidelines used anywhere, and QC is a production-focused
process – for things such as inspections.
