Talk about a scary experience you have had. (Get on a trip to Binh Ba) Good morning, teacher. My name is Gia Nghi, my full name is Phan Thuy Gia Nghi. I made this video clip to present my opinion about the topic you give in class. But before we came to the main part of this clip, I would love to introduce something about myself to you. I am now a final-year student and my major in Sai Gon university is Psychology. I was born and lived in Sai Gon with my parents and my brother in an apartment located in 10 wards. I am sort of an extrovert so I love spending time with friends and family outside, hanging out, going shopping, grabbing coffee and things like that. These are some little details I love sharing with you. Return to the main part, the topic I choose today is to talk about a scary experience I have had. Whenever I have to bring up a memory about something scary I have been through, it is always the first to appear – my trip to Binh Ba island. The first reason makes it the scariest trip. We were tricked into believing that the tour guide had booked a hotel for us when all he did was scam our money. A local guy came to our camping place and asked if we knew that all the boats would leave before five pm. At first, we were quite calm because we were planning to stay the night, so why bother about whether the boat is leaving or not. But when we said that, he was quite shocked and said Binh Ba is still pristine and there are only locals here so they don’t have any hotel on the island. All the tourists should leave if they didn’t have plans to camp outside at midnight. My mother started to see the problem when she could not contact the tour guide. She alerted all our family to pack things up cause there definitely something going wrong and we should leave soon. She was right. The second trouble is when we see people standing in lines waiting for boats. It seems like we have no chance to find a boat when they're all gonna leave in 30 minutes. My father noticed a group of tourists at the dock so he gathered us all and ran to them. They told us that there is a way to get on a boat, we just have to climb from one boat to another until we reach the blue one out there. He also said that these fishermens will help us get there. That is one of the most horrible decisions we ever made to join in such crazy. My father, my uncle carry the most luggage but we all have a lot of stuff, backpack and things we carry. Wind and big waves make the boat shake as if it wants to flip while we try to move carefully from one to another. The weather is not so nice either, it's almost raining hard. My aunt and I don't know how to swim and We don't even have the life jacket to wear. In the end, we did get on the boat safely but it was driving with 10 people more than it should. Until we came back on land and found a hotel room, I was still not awake from the situation. As a result, I find travelling by boat is very scary and my family never books cheap tours or unclear one again.
