1. Propose a solution
Directions: In this part of the test, you will be presented with a problem and asked to propose a solution. You will have 30 seconds to prepare. Then you will have 60 seconds to speak. Respond as if you are asked to solve the problem. In your response, be sure to
• show that you recognize the problem, and
• propose a way of dealing with the problem.
Problem: Your class plans to raise some money to help flood victims in Central Vietnam. Suggest different steps to do this.

2. Express an opinion
Directions: In this part of the test, you will give your opinion about a specific topic. Be sure to say as much as you can in the time allowed. You will have 30 seconds to prepare. Then you will have 60 seconds to speak.
Topic: In a big city, there are better schools, teachers, programmes, etc. than in a town or province. Therefore, it is said that young people who come from cities study better than those coming from provinces and as a result will have better careers later in life. Do you agree? Give reasons for your opinion.
