Configuring Foundry’s Dynamic VLAN Feature
With software release 07.6.03, a new feature called Dynamic VLAN Assignment is supported with Foundry’s
802.1X Port Authentication. Dynamic VLAN Assignment allows network administrators to assign a specific VLAN
to an individual’s Windows User Account. When the individual successfully authenticates to the network using
802.1X Port Authentication, they are automatically placed into their respective VLAN.
NOTE: This feature is supported on port-based VLANs only. This feature cannot be used to place an 802.1X-
enabled port into a Layer 3 protocol VLAN. For more information on Foundry’s 802.1X

Foundry uses the following standard RADIUS attributes returned from Microsoft’s IAS RADIUS service to place the
port into the proper VLAN:
