b) Secondary data analysis
Issac (1981) demonstrates that this method refers to the analysis of existing data collected by others. It affords researchers the opportunity to investigate research questions using large-scale data sets that are often inclusive of under-represented groups while saving time and resources. The researcher poses questions addressed through the analysis of a data set that they were not involved in collecting. This means that the same data set can actually be a primary data set to one researcher and a secondary data set to a different one. In this research, the method is applied as the researcher utilizes the former researcher’s theoretical findings on the subjects of the study.
