END-OF-TERM EXAMS FOR ENGLISH 1 SPEAKING EXAM: 40% (FIVE TESTS) MARKING CRITERIA Part 1: 2 marks Part 2: 4 marks Part 3: 4 marks TOTAL: 10 marks REQUIREMENTS 1. Each examinee must choose 1 of the 5 given tests by drawing lots at random. Note: The selected tests cannot be changed. 2. Each examinee has 5 minutes for preparation. 3. Each examinee must: - introduce himself or herself within one minute. - present a short talk about the topic in the chosen test for 1 to 2 minutes. - answer 2 (TWO) follow-up questions by the examiner(s). 4. Marks must be made available before the examinees sign their names. SPEAKING TEST 1 PART 1 (2 marks) You are asked to introduce yourself within one minute, including your name, date of birth (date/ month/ year), home town, class, faculty, major of study, and a dream job. PART 2 (4 marks) You have to talk about the following topic for one to two minutes. Talk about your experience in learning English. You should say: how long you have been learning English how often you use English which English skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) you like the most and explain why you need to learn English. PART 3 (4 marks) You have to answer TWO of the following questions by the examiner. Add as many details as possible to support your answers, especially answers to Yes/No questions (explain why/why not or give examples). 1. Do you like learning languages? Why? 2. What languages do you speak? 3. Do you think learning languages is important? Why? 4. Do you watch films, read websites or listen to music in English? 5. How do you feel when you do these things? 6. Which English skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) are difficult for you? 7. How often do you practice using English? 8. Whom do you often practice using English with? 9.
