SPEAKING - A3
TEST 15
1. Propose a solution
Directions: In this part of the test, you will be presented with a problem and asked to propose a solution. You will have 30 seconds to prepare. Then you will have 60 seconds to speak. Respond as if you are asked to solve the problem. In your response, be sure to
• show that you recognize the problem, and
• propose a way of dealing with the problem.
Problem: A friend of yours had an argument (got angry) with another one because of a misunderstanding. They have stopped talking with each other for a while. You want them to make up with each other and be friends again. What should you do?
|
Before helping them make up, I think I need to understand why they misunderstood each other. First, I would talk to my friend and ask her to tell me everything. I will also do the same to the person my friend was angry with. Second, after understanding the problem, I need to explain to my friend and say that she made a mistake when she got angry and didn't talk to the other person. I will apologize on behalf of my friends when they get angry with them. After that, I would ask them out for a drink, explain the problem to them, and make them make up with each other. In short, it's not difficult to help them heal, the important thing is whether my friends understand the problem and apologizes to the other person or not.
