In the case where there is no DCC connectivity between nodes, a
local communications
network (LCN) can be used to connect the nodes to each other.

management information base (MIB)
The
management information base (MIB) is the provisioning information stored in the
database of the NE. This includes the configuration of the units within the NE, the name
and type of the NE, as well as addressing information and network information
necessary for management.
In Lucent OMS context, the MIB is referred to as
NE database.
