Model Answer: 
Well, I wanna talk about a picnic I had with a bunch of friends at a park near my home. 
Some of my friends decided not to go back to their hometowns during the Chinese New Year 
due to the pandemic and suggested having a pic
nic together. There’s a huge park near my 
place and its vast verdant meadow has made it a perfect picnic spot in recent years, so I 
invited my friends to sleep over at my house the day before to make the preparations.
It was a bright day with a nip in the air. By the time we arrived, there had been quite a few 
tents set up on the meadow. Fortunately, we found a perfect spot near the lake, away from 
the crowds and traffic, and laid out all the food and drinks on the blanket (picnic blanke). No 
one could resist the temptation of snapping a photo when everything was ready.
The sunshine overhead made us pleasantly drowsy, so a few of us decided to take a stroll 
and get some fresh air while the rest of the gang took their nap. The park came alive once 
again in the afternoon with more people jogging or cycling on the footpaths and kids frolicking 
or chasing after their buddies. 
The next couple of hours was cheerfully spent on light-hearted banter, chat, card games, 
etc., and we didn’t pack up until the night closed in. Anyway, we had a great time laughing 
and sharing all the interesting stuff with one another. 
Having a picnic with my close friends turned out to be a wonderful way to celebrate the new 
year and I certainly would love to do it again. I think it’s important for friends to meet up from
