expect to be involved particularly in the day-to-day activities
of their jobs in order to
achieve the desired or agreed objectives. As the direct beneficiaries of these decisions,
it is only fair that they participate in taking such decisions because this makes
implementation very easy and successful. This has been observed to lead to a cohesive
and effective means of accomplishing organizational goals.
It would encourage
employees to identify and own the solutions to their problems. Involving staff in
decision making at whatever level, does not only build trust among the employees but
will go a long way to avert certain unhealthy and destructive
work attitudes and
behaviours.
