Notice to Parents:

1. 
   at which 50 percent or more of the students did not perform satisfactorily on the TAKS test in any two of the preceding three years; or
   
2. 
   that at any time in the preceding three years was identified as low-performing by the Texas Education Agency’s Commissioner of Education.
   

The Texas Education Agency has identified your child’s school as meeting one of the two criteria listed above. If you do not want your child to attend this school next year, you may:

1. 
   request a transfer to another school within the Houston Independent School District (HISD), or
   
2. 
   request another district to accept your child as a tuition-free transfer student under the State’s Public Education Grant (PEG) program.
   

If you are interested in transferring your child to another HISD school, please apply to one of the schools included on the attached “2012-2013 Eligible HISD Schools with Space Available to Receive Public Education Grant Transfers” list. Such transfer requests will be approved as long as space is available and the new school is able to offer the child the appropriate educational program. If you prefer to transfer your child to another district, please contact that district for the appropriate procedures.

Atención padres:
La Sección 29.201 del Código de Educación de Texas prevé que los estudiantes pueden transferirse a una escuela que tengan cupos disponibles, si desean salir de una institución educativa donde:

1. el 50 por ciento o más de los estudiantes no obtuvo resultados satisfactorios en las evaluaciones de TAKS durante dos de los tres años anteriores;

2. en alguna oportunidad durante los tres años anteriores fue calificada como una escuela con bajo rendimiento por el Comisionado de Educación de la Agencia de Educación de Texas.
El Departamento de Educación de Texas ha identificado que la escuela de su hijo presenta uno de los criterios citados anteriormente. Si no desea que su niño asista a esta escuela durante el próximo año escolar, usted puede elegir una de las siguientes opciones:

1. 
   1. pedir una transferencia a otra escuela del Distrito Escolar Independiente de
   
2. 
   Houston (Houston Independent School District o HISD), o
   

2. 
   solicitar a otro distrito que acepte a su hijo como estudiante transferido sin obligación de pagar matrícula, gracias al Programa de Subvención de la Educación Pública Estatal (Public Education Grant o PEG).
   

Los padres interesados en hacer la transferencia a otra escuela de HISD deben solicitar ingreso en una de las escuelas que aparecen la ‘Lista de escuelas de HISD que califican para recibir transferencias de la subvención para escuelas públicas’ (Public Education Grant Transfers List) durante el año escolar 2012-2013 si tienen cupo disponible. Dicha transferencia será aceptada si existe cupo disponible y si la nueva escuela ofrece el programa educativo apropiado para su niño. Si desea transferirlo a otro distrito escolar, contacte a dicho distrito para informarse sobre los procedimientos.

Cơ Quan Giáo Dục Texas từng xác định trường của con quý vị hội đủ một trong hai điều kiện nêu trên. Nếu quý vị không muốn con cái theo học trường này vào năm tới, quý vị có thể:

1. 
   yêu cầu thuyên chuyển đến một trường khác trong Khu Học Chánh Houston (HISD), hoặc
   
2. 
   yêu cầu một học khu khác chấp nhận cho con quý vị theo học như một học sinh thuyên chuyển không phải trả học phí trong chương trình Trợ Cấp Giáo Dục Công Lập của Tiểu Bang (PEG).
   

Phụ huynh nào muốn con em đổi đến một trường khác thuộc HISD phải nộp đơn cho một trường có tên trong danh sách đính kèm “2012-2013 Eligible HISD Schools With Space Available to Receive Public Education Grant Transfers” (Các Trường HISD Còn Chỗ để Nhận Thuyên Chuyển theo Trợ Cấp Giáo Dục Niên Khoá 2008-2009). Danh sách này sẽ liệt kê các trường HISD còn chỗ để chấp nhận việc đổi trường. Việc chuyển đổi sẽ được chấp thuận một khi còn chỗ và nếu trường này có thể cung ứng cho học sinh ấy chương trình học vấn thích hợp. Nếu quý vị muốn chuyển đổi con em đến một học khu khác, quý vị phải tiếp xúc với học khu ấy để biết các thủ tục thích hợp.
