Dự án lọc hoá dầu Long Hải STEP 2 Đại lộ 44, An Nhứt, Long Hải, Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu. Tỏong diện tích 500 ha (300 đất liền và 200 mặt biển) Development of Long Hai Refinery and Petrochemical will effect on many aspects of the local community’s living including change of landuse, job opportunity and issues caused by the development. The main impacts mentioned in this tem include: Land acquisition. Compensation and resettlement. Training and recruitment plan. Impacts caused by land acquisition Total acquired area for the Project is 500 ha in the area of An Nhứt, Phước Hưng and Phước tỉnh Communes. Most acquired land (55%) is agricultural. Around 1,607 HH (2,000 persons) will be affected by the Project. Among these APs, 520 HH will lose most of their land and their main houses and they have to relocate in another location. Three resettlement sites have been designed to accommodate these relocated Aps Impact caused by compensation and resettlement Resettlement activities started in early 2021 for this project and are ongoing. The resettlement activities focused first on the plant site and utilities where compensation payments were made to households who had agricultural land and graves affected by the Long Hai Refinery and Petrochemical. Impact on training and recruitment plan Land acquiring for Long Hai Economic Zone development will make thousands of farmers loss agricultural land. In the Long Hai Economic Zone, there are about 16,780 HHs (65,861 persons) and 44,593 laborers living in 4 communes of Long Hải Economic Zone. On this, 11,786 laborers are looking for a job. Among these 11,786 laborers, 2,551 have been trained and 9,235 are unskilled. LHEZ Management Board conducted a survey on the labor force in the 4 communes affected by the Project. The survey also shown 1,366 trained laborers are looking for a job, of which: 01 person graduated university. 57 persons graduated higher vocational college. 398 persons graduated intermediate vocational college: and 910 persons graduated primary vocational college. The above laborers are now working in different provinces in the South.
