Anna Salaman has over twenty years of experience immersed in the arts, heritage and cultural sectors, specializing in learning and participation, including at a number of Art, Science and History museums in different country. Prior to moving to Singapore in 2012, Anna led her own Learning and Audience Development consultancy company, providing advice and services for the Natural History Museum, Royal Opera House, National Museums Liverpool, Ashmolean Museum, Historic Royal Palaces, and the Royal Collection, UK, amongst others. Her international consultancy includes for the Children’s Museum of Peace and Human Rights (Pakistan) and the Museum of Tolerance (Israel).
Anna moved to Singapore in 2012 to take up the position of Associate Director of Programming at ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands. In this role, she leads an Education Department of 16 staff, focusing on the strategic development and implementation of programmes and related activities for the touring exhibition programme and ongoing provision with an emphasis on creativity as both a subject and an approach. Anna has a BA Hons English Literature and History of Art (University of York, UK) and an MA Certificate in Museum Studies (University College London, UK).

The Olympia schools grew from the “Dream House” preschool which was established in 2003 with Minh An as one of the Co-Founders. Inspired by Havard Professor Howard Gardner’s “Multiple Intelligences” theory, she has applied it in the schools’ education programmes to unlock students’ potential and create a respectful and understanding educational environment.
An’s nearly 10 years of experience in working in multinational organizations, including 6 years in education at Language Link Vietnam before setting up her own school in 2003, have equipped her well with high level communication, organization and leadership skills as well as a deep understanding of the international working environment.
An has rich knowledge and experience in education management which has helped her as a leader of the school to develop a unique curriculum for the Olympia schools, which embrace Vietnamese values while providing an integrated experience in the study of English and global issues by developing fundamental skills, fostering creativity and problem solving, and promoting ethics that allow students to adapt, to improvise, and to overcome challenges.

To Thuy Diem Quyen

Quyen is a chemistry teacher in District 1 HCMC who has achieved much during her 20 years of teaching. She received several awards both at in the district and city level for “Teaching using Projects”, “Integrated Teaching”, “The Golden Chalk” and “The Heart of the Teacher”.
In 2013, she received the National first prize in integrated interdisciplinary teaching. She was chosen to be a Microsoft Expert Educator in 2013 and represented Vietnamese teachers to attend the Global Education Forum in Barcelona following her participantion at the Microsoft for Education training programmes, she received high praise from teachers with whom she shared her experience in applying technology in teaching and learning.

Ms Jenny Lee

“I strongly believe that every child, whatever their starting point is, can learn. As an educator, my job is to provide a safe and conducive environment to help the child find ways to be a successful learner.”
Jenny graduated with a Bachelor degree in Computing from the National University of Singapore and joined the teaching service in 2005 after graduating with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education.
She has led the school in piloting the Seamless Learning programme in Science and under her leadership, the school has shared the Seamless Learning programme to school leaders, public and other educators.

Ms Thieu Thi Minh Tam

Workshop 2: Global citizenships – Schools activities to develop 21st century skills
Ms Thieu Thi Minh Tam, born in 1966 is a the teacher of English. She graduated from the National University in 1988 and has been working as a teacher at Yen Hoa Junior High School, Cau Giay District, Ha Noi city for 24 years. In 2000 and 2003 she was awarded “Excellent teacher” of Cau giay District.
With help from the British Council, she has been coordinating 2 projects in her schools: Connecting classrooms and International School Award. The school has achieved a lot through these projects.

Nguyen Quynh Nga

Nguyen Quynh Nga is a primary teacher of Art with a strong passion for teaching and children. She was innovative teaching methods to drive pupil’s interests her lessons. Not content with only promoting creativity and imagination for pupils at Ngoc Lam school where she is currently teaching, Nga also shares her ideas & skills with colleagues in other local schools to inspire their creativity.
