It is important that all students be in school during this time to avoid make-up testing. It is also very important that students get a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast before testing. Your attitude can help your child do his/her best. Let them know that they have worked all year on the skills that will be on the test and that you believe they will do well. Some suggestions for The Night Before the Test 1) Make sure your child does not go to bed upset. 2) Keep the rules of the house. Stopping normal discipline or upsetting the usual routine at home may confuse your child. 3) Consider talking about the test to reassure your child. At the same time, don’t dwell on the subject, as you may cause your child to worry unnecessarily. Some suggestions for The Morning of the Test

During this testing time, it is very important that your children are well rested and have had a good, nourishing breakfast. Please be sure your child is at school on time and try not to schedule any appointments during school hours while testing is going on. PARENTS—WE NEED YOUR INPUT! As part of our school planning, we are doing a parent survey this year. We would like to ask for your input to help guide us in the planning process. This is a great way to discuss any ideas, problems, or questions you may have about the school. Home and School Club Meetings---The first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Staff Lounge. ESCUELA VINCI PARK BOLETIN DEL MES DE: MAYO, 2008 Puntos importantes 1. Del 5 al 16 de mayo tendremos el examen del estado STAR. Es muy importante que durante ese tiempo, los estudiantes descansen bien por la noche, y tengan un buen desayuno. Asegúrese que su niño llegue a tiempo a la escuela y que no haga ninguna cita de doctores durante este tiempo de pruebas durante la hora de escuela. 2. El viernes 30 de mayo, tendremos una noche de cena de pasta, premios rifa de canastas. Este año además de las rifas de canastas serviremos una cena con pasta. ¡Venga, diviértase y disfrute de buena comida con su familia! 3. El 26 de mayo no habrá clases. Disfruten de un maravilloso día de los Caídos (Memorial Day). Nos veremos de regreso el martes 27 de mayo. 4. El martes 27 de mayo, iniciaremos la última campaña de recolección de latas de aluminio y botellas de plástico para este año.
