In (1) English uses “a clean hand” while Vietnamese uses “cây ngay” (a straight tree) to imply the same mea ning “if you are a good person, you are not afraid of anything/anyone.”
In (2) English uses “fire” while Vietnamese uses “dao” (knife) to express the same meaning “one should not play with sharp tools”.
In (3) English uses “a crow” while Vietnamese uses “ong” (a bee) to state the same meaning “you took care of a traitor”.
In (4) English uses “hare” while Vietnamese uses “cá”(fish) to imply the same meaning "it’s no use trying to do two things at once”.
In (5) English uses “bee - honey”, “work – money”, while Vietnamese uses “tay - hàm”(hand – jaw), “tay – miệng”(hand –mouth) to express the same meaning “if you work, you will earn money ”.
