I t’s real that idioms carry words of cultural features. They express the similar or different conceptual beliefs from countries to countries. For example, Vietnamese always says “xa mặt
cách lòng” (out of sight, out of mind or long absent, soon forgotten) to state if you are living far away from your lover/partner, your emotion to the other is soon faded from the time, www.ijellh.com 302 whereas English has a nearly similar idiom to express this meaning like “far from eye, far from heart ”. In another case, English uses the phrases “pay through the nose” or “pay an arm and a leg for something” to mean that some has to spend a lot of money in order to get something while in the Vietnamese equivalent “ Phải trả một giá cắt cổ” (buy something with an extremely expensive) , we do not see the image of “nose”, “arm” or “leg” but “cổ” (neck). Clearly, the investigation into the usage of body-part in shaping the two languages is of great significance.
