Non-verbal communication
Advantages:

  • Reducing wastage of time

  • Quicker transmission of messages

  • Impactful and effective

  • Useful for specially-abled people and also for illiterate people

Disadvantages:

  • Might distort information

  • Meaning varies across culture

  • Long conversations are not possible

  • Imprecise and vague

Verbal communication
Advantages:

  • Times-saver

  • Quick feedback

  • Convenient

  • Ease preparation

  • Privacy

  • Improved clarity

Disadvantages:

Verbal communication can occur in many various contexts such as sessions, performances, group meetings, seminars, interviews, and so on. Non-verbal communication is a significant part of human interactions. It includes facial expressions, posture, and gestures.

Individualist cultures: Communication tends to be direct, explicit, and personal. One of the most powerful ways in which human beings express their individuality is through communication. How you express your thoughts, ideas, opinions, and feelings are what makes you unique.


Collective cultures: Communication is intuitive, complex, and impressionistic. Explicit and direct communication is less important in collective cultures.

Face: the public self-image of a person, the emotional and social sense of self that everyone has and expects everyone else to recognize.
