Động từ trong mệnh đề “that” ở dạng nguyên thể Eg: I demand(ed) that he be here on time. It is necessary that he take the exam. Hiện tại bàng thái cách cũng thường được thay thế bởi should + infinitive I request(ed) that I should be given more time to consider the matter further.
