The Department is entrusted with the following duties and responsibilities to:

1. 
   Promote and expand the market for Thai exports in goods and services by penetrating new markets and to preserve existing ones.
   

2. 
   Develop and perform activities that promote trade and increase the competitiveness of the export sector, for instance, the expansion of production bases overseas.
   
3. 
   Reinforce the ability of Thai exporters to deliver goods and services that are of international standards and meanwhile increasing the competitiveness of Thai exporters to further penetrate the international market.
   

The functions of the Department are to:

1. 
   Formulate policy recommendations and action plans on issues related to trade and marketing and in this process, provide strategic directions and measures for promoting export.
   
2. 
   Provide Thai manufacturers and exporters as well as foreign importers with trade information services and to strengthen the role of information technology in export promotion.  
   
3. 
   Utilize the media and public relations as a mechanism for promoting Thai products.  
   
4. 
   Improve the knowledge and skills of the private sector personal in the field of international trades ensuring that competitiveness in the export sector is adequately enhanced.
   

5. 
   Reinforce coordination and cooperation with the relevant international institutions and organizations in support of export expansion.

   Xúc tiến và mở rộng thị trường xuất khẩu các sản phẩm và dịch vụ của Thái Lan , tìm kiếm các thị trường mới và tiếp tục duy trì các khách hàng trên thị trường cũ.

   Phát triển và giới thiệu các họat động xúc tiến thương mại và gia tăng sức cạnh tranh xuất khẩu, mở rộng thị trường nước ngòai.
   
3. 
   Tăng cường khả năng xuất khẩu cho các nhà sản xuất Thái Lan với các lọai hàng hóa và các dịch vụ dựa theo tiêu chuẩn chất lượng thế giới và cùng lúc gia tăng khả năng cạnh tranh các sản phẩm Thái Lan xa hơn nữa trên thị trường tòan cầu .

   Giới thiệu cung cấp các chính sách và các họat động sản xuất có liên quan đến lĩnh vực thuơng mại và tiếp thị , và cũng trong lĩnh vực này, cung cấp các hướng dẫn chiến lược và đánh giá về các họat động xúc tiến xuất khẩu.
   
2. 
   Cung cấp các nhà sản xuất Thái Lan và các nhà xuất khẩu Thái Lan cũng như những nhà nhập khẩu nước ngòai với các thông tin thương mại có liên quan và tiếp tục vai trò cung cấp công nghệ thông tin trong họat động xúc tiến xuất khẩu
   
3. 
   Sử dụng công nghệ truyền thông và xuất bản các thông tin liên quan trong việc thúc đẩy xúc tiến xuất khẩu các sản phẩm Thái Lan  
   
4. 
   Cải thiện, cung cấp các thông tin và kỹ năng quản trị trong lĩnh vực thương mại quốc tế cho các daonh nghiệp tư nhân nhằm tăng cường khả năng cạnh tranh xuất khẩu một cách tương xứng.
   
5. 
   Làm tăng cường việc sắp xếp và hợp tác với các việc nghiên cứu và tổ chức quốc tế nhằm khuyến khích việc mở rộng xuất khẩu.
